Hey Jonce et al, The weather has been mostly windy with humidity in the air, but I do not recall rain. I will admit that I have not replaced cap, rotor, plugs or wires on this vanagon since I got it back in August. Since I have gotten it the fuel pump has been really noisy, I have not changed the fuel filter on it, but intend to do so this weekend. I will change the plastic square one and add the California canister after the pump to (mine is an 85) I am leaning towards thinking: 1) that this maybe connected to the fuel delivery system. Dirty filter-->noisy pump--->70 mph flat spot on pressing gas pedal 2) I have not checked the tune up parts, but If these where the issues then I think I would have issues at all points of the power band 3) If all those fail then I would have to take Jonce up on looking into the AFM for some symdrom related issue. Other sugestions are still welcomed TIA, Tony -- 82 Scirocco "Rodolfo" 85 Vanagon "Blubrik, El Guapo" |
