hard to believe tires are heated or rims still welded on while tire is in place... a mechanic lost his life in BC in the last couple of years (date unknown) welding on a rim with inflated tire in place... tire exploded and the flap of rubber struck his head against the wheel ... force enough to remove brains from head...

but before we make this yet another tire thread ... let us return to the posters original question cross country trips yours
