So the rest of us are of an 'inappropriate' height ?!? I've gotten a lot of
remarks about my height but that's a new one. I think I could make a case
that _yours_ is the inappropriate height for the circumstances. Those who
are much shorter would miss the thing entirely and those of us that are
taller are much less likely to mash our noses into it and are probably more
aware of such clearance issues in general due to practice/experience. : )
Remember, 'those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it...' hehe

Having said all that, on the first ship I served on, there was this battle
lantern mounted to the overhead right on the forward side of the aft doorway
to the ship's mess that all the tall guys would hit their heads on,
especially while trying to run through the space to get to their general
quarters stations. I dunno how many times I clocked my head on that thing
hard enough to see stars, and more than one guy flat knocked himself out
cold. There were a few neck injuries from that thing as well. Even with all
that they refused to move it, remove it or modify it in any way.

Btw, I kinda like the 'Phreighdaé', though I don't think I'd ever remember
how to spell it and I'm not convinced it wouldn't be pronounced 'fray-day',
or something.

I'd like to STOP HITTING MY HEAD on the cabinet that holds the
non-functional A/C!  I get SOOOOOOOOO tired of hitting my head in the van.
And I'm of appropriate height - I can't imagine what it's like for tall
people!
