Subject: new skylight & seal
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I have installed a new, after-market skylight & seal from one of the West Coast vendors. This is a heavy-duty skylight, twice the thickness of the OEM. The seal is the aftermarket type with the bulb on the outside, rather than folding over from the top like the OEM. I can't get it to seal. There is a large gap at the corners. I talked with the vendor today and tried his suggestions, i.e. loosen all hardware and re-tighten evenly, move the seal closer to the skylight, etc. Still have gaps. My hardware, the raising arms, etc., is in good condition, but it doesn't want to pull the skylight down tight enough. Anyone else done this? Any hint to get a good seal all around? Is there any way to get the mechanism to pull down tighter?

This is a '90 Westy.

Thanks, Jerry
