Well if you are about to get married I can understand how you might be a little stressed, sorry.  Is the scraping sound at the steering wheel or underneath?  I just solved a scraping sound at the wheel by lube-ing the horn contact, but it was not a really loud noise, so I think you might be dealing with something else.

Thank you for the completely worthless response.

I asked the question because the woman to whom I'm getting married on Saturday and her wedding party are using the Vanagon as transportation to get their hair and makeup done the morning of the wedding, rather than a limo. I would like to remedy the problem prior to that time if possible, and assumed that the list would be the best place to go for meaningful and intelligent advice.
