Update.

fuel filter changed. The pump seems to be making less noise, but it is still a chatty pump. The PO placed a non OEM replacement filter on the vanagon. I had not looked at it closer, but to say the least it was a hack job. The lines both in and out of the filter where 5/16 so on the pump end he patch the 5/16 hose into a 3/8 hose and clamp it twice..........Geez

I went to the flaps and was gifted a 6" section of 3/8! Nice I was able set the new filter in with new hose and clamps.

I will have to take it out on the highway to hit 70 mph and report back.

I wonder why it doesn't smell like I just filled the thank?
