Dear David

in ways both good and bad he had a lot to with who i am today

your line resonates deeply inside me in the way a surprise reflection of my self startles me in nature looking into a rain covered blade of grass or leaf the eye of the dog or cat the eye of my lover

and even she is startled that i watch myself

noticing my Dad in my movements and thoughts through out the day so often causes me to stop ... both good and bad indeed ... and especially the times when i feel him with in my self ... moving almost or like a taste in my mouth as if i am recalling his particular odor... that blend of cigarettes and way too much Old Spice and a splash of Lambs Dark Navy

impossible not to miss him thanks for sharing your grief and your quiet celebration yours
