Just run the van parked in a very dark place.
Get a spray bottle and lightly mist the wires.
You will see the light show.

Well, just the bracket on the sender that attaches it to the distributor was
cracked, not the whole unit.  Zip tie seems to keep it snug.  Took it for a
drive yesterday and again today and all power restored.  Tied up the wires
so the #1 and #2 dont  touch anything or each other.  Seems wires were
probably arcing under stress.  Wish I could have had someone sit in the back
in the dark while driving like another list member suggested.  All good now.
