Hopefully there is enough "bus" left to discard the old engine and install
the subie.
To me this looks evident of a constant exposure to SALT SPRAY from salted
roads and was never rinsed off or oil coated to preserve.
Salt, as many of you are aware, once on your vehicle is almost impossible to
get rid of, it will sit on every surface, in every crevice and just wait
for new moisture to continue its tear down of the metal.
You would have to build everything shown out of stainless steel to even have
a chance to protect it.
Great that all those mile were racked up. Hard to believe somebody was doing
head jobs on it! Did all the exhaust and manifold stuff happen since the
last head job? if so WOW!
