Some time back I asked:

The bulb wires just slips out of the holders.

I used a Radio Shack 272-1154 12V 50mA Bi-Pin Lamp.  Like $1.69 out the door...

The legs were NOT as long as the bulb I took out, I trimmed the
plastic on the inst cluster so the legs would fit into the holders, I
used wire cutters and took just a touch off.
