I'd like to second Anthony's choice. I'm a 15w50 Mobil1 user as well. Although my 2.1 WBX only has just over 90K miles, I decided on 15w50 because it flows better than my customary high-mileage choice Castrol 20w50 on start up and provides great protection in the Southeastern climate. My oil temp gauge indicates about 10C temp decrease over Castrol at highway speeds of around 75 mph and oil pressure gauge shows good consistent readings.

Once I install the external oil cooler I'll likely change oil to 10w40, Mobil1, of course.

I am intrigued by 0w40, but would like to find out more about its behavior in our older, larger tolerance WBX motors. What would Bob Donalds say?
