No doubt that anything Amsoil publishes is either biased or favorable for
them. It almost a theme. However, there oil probably is amongst the top of
the line. Royal Purple is a bit of a gimmick to me. Red Line is also an
outstanding product.
For the Vanagon auto tranny differential any synthetic will do. While I have
seen regular oils fail in the Audi differentials the Vanagon really doesn't
have enough horsepower to kill the diff.
The ATF is also not super critical here. I have been happy with the way the
shifts and the feel of the clutches locking as it shifts with the Mobil 1
ATF. It is also good for the power steering. I also like the Mobil
products as it is readily available when I travel.

Okay I guess that people on the forum just use what ever they find at
the their local Walmart and none of the products listed below.
If there is anyone here that uses these products listed let me know as
I am eager for some feedback.
If you are using off the shelf items from Walmart tell what you have
had good success with please.
I was looking at the Valvoline Extended Life ATF they sell, anyone use
this?
