look for some 195 R 14 C tires....... Those are quite 'just right'. might even be a teenie bit higher 'gearing' than you have with the 205/70's, which would be good.

'C' load rating is very 'just right' for vanagons. there are some R 14 C's that are really D load rated. Try to find C load rated 195 R 14 C's. look for a max load rating of about 1700 lbs as 50 psi max. The D's have a higher load capacity and usually are 55 psi max....... go for the C load rated ones.

I also just got into this one - 15 inch though. and that's 195 R 15 C .........hellava tire. Got them in Cooper brand - almost 100 bucks each ....... but pretty knarly.
