Anthony,

We had a drawn-out war over "weekender" semantics just a little over a week ago.  The conclusion was that "weekender" is a very common slang name for this type of Westfalia.  Just understand that it was never called a Weekender by VW.  The weekender option applied only to hard-top Vanagons and did not include cabinets.  Weekender option included rear-facing seats with folding seat-backs and a different folding rear bed with a wooden kick panel.  If you look at this pic you will see the genuine Westfalia sticker on the pop-top:  http://picasaweb.google.com/miguelspacheco/Apr302009?fgl=true&pli=1#5330879715528832146.  Also, there was a Westfalia badge at the left lower corner of the folding bed kick panel which is just visible in this picture:  http://picasaweb.google.com/miguelspacheco/Apr302009?fgl=true&pli=1#5330879315042940882.  The Wolfsburg Edition Westfalia campers were built in the same factory as the full Westfalias.  It's a genuine and unique Westy.  I had an '85 Wolfsburg Westy for 4 years and loved it.

Chris.

Beautiful!

Isn't this what's called a Weekender...not Westy?
