Subject: Air Cooled/Diesel Vanagon shifter linkage
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

One more thing that I am working on is the notorious shift linkage for the 80-82 Vanagons. This has went the way of the dinosaur for countless ages. I actually got two sets of these brand new from France yesterday! However I bought one set for a customer and the other set is going to be used as a model for new parts that I am going to try to have made up. I want to keep these parts available as I have had many customers calling me for them over the years and I have had no source. If you are interested in this project please let me know. The parts we are getting together are the guide pin on the transmission, the shift rod on the side of the trans, the guide pin bushing, and guide boot. I have found new sources for the boot and the bushing. My concern now is getting the two "hard" parts made up. I will let you know my progress on this if folks are interested.
