They are worth the extra work even if just for the view!

Engine quitting can be a few things. Did you buy it recently? Either way....

While you're checking out the fuel hoses in the engine bay, (hint hint) have a look for obvious loose and/or corroded wires. A quitting/intermittent engine sure sounds like loose wire to me.

And carry a spare ignition switch. They're cheap. They do wear out, and a worn or hinky switch could possibly cause an engine to quit. If your switch does go south, doing a temp swap is easy. Just pull the plug off the old one, put new one on, your keys serve as a means to unlock the steering, and the new switch can be turned with a small slot blade screwdriver.
