IIRC Jim said something about the archived post format not being compatible with current software; or at any rate there was an issue with porting the archives over (along with the problem of him not having all of the needed keys to the kingdom), which is why I suggested finding a way for gerry to remain online as an archive server and moving the mail server-current/future archives to another machine.
