My '75-'92 VW Rabbit Haynes sez:

"Every 15,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.... check and replace as ness. spark plugs." It also includes cap/rotor/points and plug wires.

Air/PCV/air injection system filters are also included as "replace".
