You know, after doing some further reading on Redline and other's websites it looks like the Redline NS might be a better choice for the regular Vanagon with it's open diff. But I already got the MT90 headed this way, so that is what I'll be using for this time. They say the NS-type fluids have a friction modifer to make them less(?) slippery so that the syncros in the gearbox will engage better, resulting in easier downshifts, etc. I guess that also helps the Limited Slip differential, which works with a simple clutch type stack, get a little more grip somehow. Redline also offers a stand-alone 'Friction Modifier' in like a pint bottle that you can add to your gear oil to increase the grip of your syncros or to help break in a brand new tranny... That might be worth looking into if you are encountering difficult shifting and you know it isn't your clutch or your linkage.. Not a recomendation, just an observation from someone who hasn't actually done anything with it..
