What is the gas pedal actually supposed to attach to at the bottom end? All I can see from poking around is that it goes into a hole in the carpet. The carpet is glued to the pad under it, which is glued to the floor - without pulling all of that up (and probably destroying the pad in the process), I can't see what is under there. Aside from a LOT of dirt from years of my muddy shoes being down there.
