Not to sound too geeky, but Gerry is the collection of software and related/archived data; it's not the physical machine. In theory, that collection could be run on a virtual machine, which we could move at will to different l host machines, even hosting it on some cheap cloud service like Amazon EC2. I realize that's not quite as romantic, but it avoids the inevitable downtime due to engine fires on the cross-country relay ;)
