... AND ... you wouldn't believe some of the places Richard and I found ourselves in after expending that mileage, last week .... to do the "stove to cook dinner on, a sink to wash the dishes, a nice bed for the night, and mini ice cubes for you cocktail?" Albeit the Syncro's made those places possible, that's not the topic here, it's Vanagon's and their mileage ... to say nothing of the expansive vista's and great company. It's quiet out there with no RV generators to offer up their noise pollution. Dirt road driving in 2nd and 3rd gears doesn't give you great mileage .... but does give you so many other things it's easy to forgive the mileage. bob On Tue, May 19, 2009 at 6:43 AM, Richard A Jones <jones@colorado.edu> wrote: > > This site lists a standard Vanagon at 16 city, 18 highway, 17 combined. > SO > > my 'issue' is a non issue :-) I guess I'm too used to my Honda Civic :-) > > But when you got "there" in your high milage Civic, did you have > a stove to cook dinner on, a sink to wash the dishes, a nice > bed for the night, and mini ice cubes for you cocktail? ;-) > > Richard > |
