Someone posted to the Samba forum a link (" http://www.vmaxchargetank.com/trolling.html") to a company that makes AGM batteries. One, a MR107-1400 trolling battery appeared to fit in the auxiliary battery box. I sent the company an email and asked if the specs on that page were correct and said that if they were, that they would sell a lot of batteries to Vanagon owners. Unfortunately, the height measurement is wrong and it is really 8.2 inches. Thought you might like to see the company's response. I replied and said that they needed to look at the Vanagon.com archives and the Samba forum for all the discussions on what battery could be used instead of a group 41 starting battery. If you have additional information that would help them decide to produce an AGM trolling battery in the group 41 size, please send it to them.

(10.2L 6.6W 8.2H). We will look into your remark and see if there is enough demand for the size you referred to. Message : Are the physical specifications on your webpage of the mr107-1400 correct? It says 10.2-L, 6.6-W, and 6.7-H. If the Height is correct, you will sell a lot of these batteries to VW Vanagon users for the auxiliary battery box.
