I have one, done.  I didn't do the swap but I have been all over/through it
by now.  If you need me to  look at mine for pics or whatever, let me know,
I can tell or show you what was done on this one.  I like the combo, think
it may be one of the better swaps for inexpensive and effective.  I have
about 30k on this one in a couple of years and I like it..When or if this
motor (92 golf, jetta, cabriolet 8 valve) gives up, I can replace it for
about $300..Mid 20s for fuel consumption, probably around 120hp with a mild
cam and very easy to work on.
  I have never found a website like the Subie-Vanagon list..but then there
really is no need...not much to mess with for the VW>VW motor swap and the
inline gassers are simple.  Plenty of "tuner VW" sites to show you how to
get more HP.
   Keep me (us?) posted on how it goes for you..Not much out there about
this particular swap.
