Agree, it's the pressure/temperature cycling that gradually milks the inserts out of the pipe ends.

Ken, here's where you need to slow down and listen: the whole point of the GoWesty kit is to *retain* those inserts and prevent them from working their way out again. That is the thing and the whole of the thing. They introduce a mechanical stop which is held in place by an external lip and hose clamp.
