Craig, there is an air leak in the intake/exhaust system. It must be completely sealed to the fire box. Only air getting in should be through the intake port. Notch towards the front for the rubber gasket. See my _VW Vanagon Westfalia Dometic Fridge Maintenace_ (http://frankcondelli.com/fridge.htm) webpage for full details on removing and servicing the Dometic fridge.

>>>>Hey guys. Last year I put a full westfalia interior into my '85 GL. I must say I love it. The simplicity of it all, and a fridge that works quite well, but i have one gripe... My fridge will not stay lit while under way. It lights up on the first try on propane, and it never goes out on its own, untill I begin to drive....

Since i'm taking a 2400 mile trip across the country here very soon, I thought it would be nice to have it running as it should. Today I pulled the fridge (again), cleaned out the combustion chamber, intake, and exhaust, installed a muffin fan on the inside, installed a bigger fan on the outside, and put it all back together. I used UltraCopper RTV to seal up the combustion chamber, and to seal the flange where the exhaust exits the body. Yet alas, air is still getting in to blow it out! Any suggestions?

Just to clarify, the notch that is missing from the rubber gasket that holds the flue vent in place, faces towards the front of the vehicle.....correct?<<<<<<<<<<
