The fridge does NOT "normally" blow out while driving ! If it
does there is a problem that needs to be repaired. If all is as it was
designed then it will not blow out. I have driven thousands of km with my fridge
running and it does not blow out. I just finished an 18,000 km trip from
home throughout Mexico and the US and back home. See my _BacalarBlog_
(http://poolio.net/bacalarblog/) . Fridge was lit on November 20 and shut off
May 10. It ran steady the entire time without ever blowing out. I've owned
my Westy now for over 18 years and have always driven with the fridge lit.
The times it blew out while driving were due to a leak in the air
intake/exhaust system or the fridge needed servicing. The fire is in a SEALED
fire box, there is no danger of the fire getting out ! It is not necessary to
shut it of while in a gas station or while driving or for any other
circumstances because your paranoid that some disaster will occur. Like I said
in the beginning if all systems are functioning as they were designed then
all will be good !

Sure, it doesn't blow out EVERY time, but if the wind is right...er, wrong
it will blow out.
Might I suggest running it on 12VDC while driving?
And, I'm sure someone will chime in with the potential danger of having a
running fridge (on propane) at a gas station.<<<<<
