The trouble with a true 'off' switch for my stereo is the settings are lost when it is truely powered down. So every time I turn it back on, it's at the default settings. I have mine wired into the aux battery with a toggle switch near the ingnition switch. If I leave my stereo with the faceplate on and powered up it will drain my small aux battery in about two days..maybe three, and the dang light is quite bright when you are trying to sleep on the folding bed.
