There is plenty available on ebay.de Most German sellers will be able to answer you in English. Like with US auctions, some will be willing to ship internationally some not.

The keyword you want to search for is Standheizung This gives 3000+ auctions! However be sure to verify with the seller that you get a complete turnkey systems. Many auctions will sell just the heater part, but not all the accessories (relays, fuel pumps, control units etc).

There are two types of heaters. One kind heats air, like the DA6 I have, and another heats water. I think the water heating one is neater as it both can heat the engine, and the van (using the regular heater core and fan)

Either will consume *much more* electricity than a Propex or Truma propane heater. My Truma uses just 0.5A in low mode and 1A in high. Propex is about 1A I think. While only the air circulation fan for my DA6 uses 5A! (Didn't measure the diesel combustion part but there's a glow plug in it which may draw a fair amount of current, a combusion air fan and a fuel pump.)
