This is all old stuff, we had the same discussion years ago, and before, and everywhere else! GoWesty, Bob (and i can include myself) and many other saw that problem years ago. I made a page the that exact subject, here is all the pictures you need: http://www.benplace.com/amc.htm

But something was done to the keeper because since about 2 years i never had to grind one.

What happen to Paul valve mean nothing! It can be a lot of different thing including oil starvation. He bought the van with the engine seized and as no history on this one so who knows.

Go drive your van and enjoy life. It's simply to hard and to short.
