Many of the AMC heads I've seen with this problem were installed within the last few years. I find it unlikely that importer had a 5+ year supply of AMC heads. Actually, since I know the importer, I can guarantee you they did not have a 5+ year supply. More like 3 months at a time... I've seen AMC heads installed less than a year ago with excessive wear on the grooves where the keepers sit. Sorry, it's not a "bad batch" phenomenon. AMC heads are great, but in my experience, the cheap valves (Brazilian I think) are crap. Cheers, Jeff
