but Jim............ this shouldn't be a surprise really ....... they are after all 'just volkswagons.' I have seen about a million idiviudally different failure modes on VW engines over the years, and I'll bet we'lkl see hundreds more types of failures, all ones we've never seen before. I happen to have a couple of pre-chambers out of an 80's era Mercedes dieesel engine ...... the part looks at least 5 times better made and more expensvie than the equivilant VW part. Many vw engine parts are made 'just good enough' and not over-built at all, looks to me. Cheap to get, cheap to fix. What's not to like ! ? !
