Not sure how much this will help but I will throw this out there. On my 84, it is always a single cycle. I recently had some problems with my 84 where going down the road after driving for a while, it would cut out. I of course ignored this until it finally stopped running. But when it did stop running and would not start, I noticed that the pump cycled twice everytime I turned the key on. My problem ended up being a weak connection at the AFM. I cleaned it and since have had no cut out problems. AND...my pump only cycles once again. It was odd. My Van completely cut off twice and would not start when I had the connection problem. Both times I had the symptom that the pump would cycle twice when the key was turned on. Not sure if this helps... Just an observation but it seems that Robert has a legitimate question and his post has sort of been hi-jacked. I'm curious to se what others say about his pre-start double cycling of his fuel pump. -- Thanks, Jeff '90 Carat (Grover) '86 (We call this one Parts) '78 Bus (Melissa) Patty's Bus |
