There are many interior options, some nothing at all like a Westfalia . My friend's Sportsmobile has a side facing couch in the rear of the van that turns into a bed. (An impossible configuration for a rear engine van). One nice thing about the Sportsmobiles is the hinged side doors. Like the original microbus this allows fold out tables or cabinets, or cubby holes that are accessible from outside the van. Good thing too, it's a haul into his van with the huge tires on it AND the raised floor that has water tanks and a wet locker under it. They actually have a design your own custom camper from their numerous stock parts which is kinda cool to play w, although the designs, IMHO, are not as good as the Westfalia versions.
