Good morning folks, I frequently see the same folks requesting list subscription approval again and again. What I suspect is happening is that these folks have employment (or retirement) that takes them away from a computer for long periods of time. Since they do not want their inbox to get filled with the mostly useless drivel (tongue in cheek) that this list generates, they unsubscribe. Good plan. Except.... there's an easier way. Why not just set your subscription to nomail? It's easy... to: listserv@gerry.vanagon.com subject is ignored body: set vanagon nomail Send it. When you're ready to receive mail again, repeat with the command: set vanagon mail Just that simple. And it allows to to post whenever you need/want to! (and it makes it so I don't have to repeatedly approve the same folks.) Jim Arnott List Admin vanagon@gerry |
