Steve,

I towed my 88 GL totally laden with everything I owned at the time - from Clinton OK to Birmingham, AL on one of those full length auto trailers. I rented a truck from U-haul and their trailer to go with it. Not sure what weight was in the van, but it had boxes and boxes of books and pottery equipment in it. It towed just fine. Max speed though was 45 mph - stipulated by U-haul, U-hauls contract, and stated in the truck and on the trailer. It was a long slow trip at 45 but no mishaps.

Can you unload some stuff and out it into the back of the truck to lighten up the Westy?
