I did'nt say anything about injectors or spark plugs. The fuel pump is pressurizing the system twice .

You don't know what I mean because this hasd never happened to anyone but me.

So now I have to explain it with sound effects. You turn the key to the ON postion. Bzzzzttt!

Go out to your Vanagon and turn the key. What do you hears? I am not asking you to trun the key all the way oever to the start position. Don't try to start the engine, just trun on the key . You will hear the fuel pump activate briefly, then stop.

My pump activates TWICE,(bzzzttt-bzzzttt!) not normal , not no how.

Go figure.

We are'nt talking about running the engine . Just the pump running twic for one key turn. You turn the key to the ON postion only once. The pump cycles twic. My 84 dioes not do that, it cyclers once. My 85 cycles twice.
