I would recommend welding at a local Mineke or similar place. They fixed my old system temporarily for me this way. Was very reasonable fee.

I have now switched over to a S&S system.

Before I made the switch I had a couple of nasty holes in mine OEM system. I tried everything. I used the paste, I tried using some thin metal sheeting with some cheese grater clamps which held for a short time. In the end the only solution was a complete replacement.

Other than that, check local yards for parts of get something off the Samba.

One note on the S&S units, if you order them. Take them to be ceramic coated or do it yourself by taking off the existing crap black paint that is on there with some paint remover. Once done., get yourself some VHT high temp exhaust 2,0000 degree paint, follow the instructions exactly. Paint 2 light coats, then a 3 third. Bake 3x. This will seal it. It took me several days to remove all the rust off my total system and repaint/bake but it looks brand new again. Hopefully this will last a bit longer now.
