Man, if you do it, you're braver than I. I just drove cross-country with a trailer loaded to 95% of max, sweated every bump in the road. If I were you, I'd buy a used equipment trailer, like one used to carry a bobcat, usually rated to 7-10,000 g.v.w.r., and then sell it when you get where you are headed. You can usually find them for a couple thousand bucks, you may even make some money out of the deal.
