I'm really sorry to hear of your problem, Mike, but, in that you already have it, make the best of it.

Several years ago I broke my leg and ankle (a story in itself) and it was winter here in northern Maine. My ankle was in an ortho splint and I was on crutches. My wife and I were just leaving the checkout stand at the local Wal*Mart and she was a few feet ahead of me. I yelled out loudly, "Please don't leave me again ... it's so hard to walk home on the ice!" A number of people did turn and look ... heheheheheh
