it's like this .......... what is better ? a spot that can rub, that includes a critical part like a gasoline fuel line under 32 psi that can rub, but it's rubber-protected,

or ........no spot to rub at all in the first place ! ?

that's a 'duh-no brainer' for sure in my world. And what I am looking for all the time........ as reliable and dependable as we can possibly get them, plus easy to work on. - just like a race car. Simple is good.

FWIW, The grommet Robert sourced fits the hole in the firewall perfectly while allowing plenty of room around the fuel hose. There will be no chafing or rubbing with this set-up. I installed one today and am happy with the result.
