The yellow poof is from flooding the chamber with too much propane gas. Once this poof happens you need to stop pushing in the gas button and wait a few minutes for some of the gas to clear. Then pump only air a bunch of times. Then pump and push the igniter, constantly clicking, and only then press and hold the gas button while still pumping and igniting. That should do it. If not, wait a couple minutes and repeat.

It is easy to flood the chamber with too much gas and once that occurs it is difficult to get it to light. That is why you shouldn't push the gas too long without also pumping in air and providing sparks.

Exception: Any time you have opened the gas lines such as for removing and cleaning the fridge burner chamber you must then hold the gas button for a very long time to purge the air out of the gas lines and get just gas flowing through the lines and out the tiny burner jet. If you have the thermostat turned to max cold more gas will flow and the flushing will happen sooner. Lighting or just turning on the stove burners will get some of the air out too but since the fridge gas line splits off very near the tank running the stove won't pull fresh gas through much besides it's own line. It still helps to do so, after the lines have been opened for any reason.

I tried holding in the gas for 30 seconds or so, then pumping the air about 30 times like the Dometic manual suggests, but still no success. Today I took out the fridge and cleaned it up. I opened the burner box. Everything looked clean, but I still took a q-tip with some alcohol and wiped everything off. Then I checked the flues. They both seem to be clean. I put it all back together and still get the same results. Any thoughts? My stove burners are working, so I know my tanks isn't empty :) > Thanks, > Steve > > > >
