Subject: Syncro fuel tank saddle & straps
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

There's a good chance I'll be having the motor yanked out of my syncro for some repairs - primarily new head gaskets which pretty much sums up the coolant issue I had posted about several weeks back.

Having the motor out gives me an opportunity to renew and fix a few other things and from what I understand it also makes the head gasket job a bit more bearable. I guess it is time to really get to know my van.

One thing I'm contemplating is renewing my fuel tank saddle and straps - which in current condition are very corroded. Does anyone know of other vendors who sell these parts or have some in relatively good condition? I was surprised to actually find a replacement set from Gowesty. I have nothing but excellent dealings with GW, however I just wanted to get an idea if anything else exists out there. What have some of you syncronauts done to find and renew this part?

thanks again for your help. BT
