My Dometic has two running/not running indicator devices. The crappy
frustrating little flame window and a linear dial right up near the controls
inside the door. The dial (may be some sort of 'flow-gauge') moves across
an arc from left (white zone) to right (green zone) when the fridge lights.
As long as it's running that dial stays over to the green right side of the
dial. I've dealt with half a dozen various Dometics in many different
camp vehicles but this one that came with the westie interior I bought used
and installed
myself is the only one I've seen that has the indicator that is actually
easily usable. I can also hear the flame sometimes when it is super quiet.
Love that little dial...hate the crappy flame window that you can't see..
My fridge works great. Stays lit during driving almost all the time.
Does not work on 12v as installed, but I get about 3wks running on a 6 gal
(?) 'BBQ-size tank of propane.
One thing I do is freeze up some milk cartons of water in my home freezer
so when I get ready to go somewhere where I'll want my Dometic cold I can
stick one of those in the box to pre-cool the van's fridge.
