Nope, when you spin them you can feel something is not right. They all came from vans I picked up to restore and resell. They were running when I purchased them. I didn't have any info. to go by other than they were rebuilds from VW of CA with the stickers. The flywheels were on and installed. The head sealing jobs looked very poor and one of the external head gaskets looked warped. The only waterboxer rebuilds I can vouch for and say I 100% satisfaction would be my Boston Bob 2.1s. They spin so smooth and develope great power. Bob warned me about them when I picked them up years ago and called to touch base. I knew they didn't hold much value when I offered them to him as cores and he refused. I don't have any experience with the eariler motors, just the 4 2.1s I've seen and what I've read about. df |
