Benny,
What you say is true, to some extent, of any vehicle, any business, any
people.
You _understand_ that you lack balance. Over the long run you must get what
you give in equal measure to survive, on many levels. We've told you before;
You're giving yourself away.
Hold close those people and things that fulfill you, discard and fire the
rest.
You don't have the time or the ability to convert or change people; none of
us do.
Build your tribe, be prepared to lead it. You are the one with the rare
skill, you dictate the terms- those that can understand and accept that will
pay what you're worth, on your time. The others will go away. You won't miss
them in the end.
I've given much to some that have been indifferent, some that have accused
me of... all manner of things. I no longer give those people anything, or
even wonder if they notice the difference.
You mentioned Bob... he struck me as a guy that for the most part had found
his balance.
You can't survive on the occasional trip to Florida or Mexico.
Charge what you're worth. Stop when the clock strikes. Turn off your phone.
Work so that you may live, not live so that you may work.
Cya,
Robert

I have to let the steam out tonight, why not here!
I hate those vans. Real bad. I work 6/7 a week and more than 12 hours
someday on it. I give everything i have, 150%. Still, shit come back in your
face. As much as i give all hi have those frigging van are possess.
Subi or stock, paint job or small work, it doesn't matter.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Subi, I'm frigging driving one but still. Now
I have a second Subicustomer with a strange problem, his far away, i can't
do much.
DON'T TELL ME STOCK' TICCO' OR BOSTIG ENGINE ARE BETTER!!! I KNOW WAY TO
MUCH ABOUT ENGINE, WAY TOO MUCH! Anything van happen with anything!
I had rust spot came out on heavy body work i did, men i gave everything i
had on those van...
stock engine that i decided that the stock head where in perfect condition,
tested deeply and the head passed the test... the hell, some cracked later.
Bad rebuilt transmission, defective new parts, time and time spent covering
even stuff i have no control on it! of course for free.
I can't cope with the stress... I just can't. My cell phone is on my site
available to my customer's... it just rang tonight on a late Saturday
night., sometime on early Sunday morning. Men I have no life working on
those piece of shit vans.
No time is free! Never. this is how it goes with a small business:
-Too much work you stress
-Not enough work, you stress
-Just enough work... you still wonder and stress! Why don't I have more like
before.
Anyone who had a small company fully understand what I mean!
It's a very early Sunday morning, i can hear Bob Donald (AKA Boston bob-RIP)
telling me it's passion thing Ben and you will never get rich out of it, he
was so right, i can head him laugh form up there, i can see him smile.
Sorry, i had to vent. I gave way to much of my precious time for VW, online
or not.
