Payson checked out the the temperature sensor and was going to do the bypass test with a test light, but notice that the sensor was only hand tight into the head. he tightened it up and got someone to jump start it since the battery was drained again (possibly because of lights left on) it started up and he nervously waited the minute or two that it had been taking before it would sputter to a stop. This time it kept going! Fault appears was in a bad ground between sensor and head! They wasted no time getting out of dodge and are making a bee line, sort of, back home. Proposed route for the now 5 travelers, is to work their way back up to I-70 and then north to 80 at some point and skirt the great lakes. |
