John, these engines were rebuilt in a rebuilding factory in Canada that I believe also did work for Chrysler (there is that evil VW-Chrysler link again rearing it's ugly head). One of the big things they would always do is align bore the case. So no matter what you are going to need main bearings that are oversized on the case. These rebuilds are notorious for being all over the board. I have seen some that were fine. Others that were horrendous. If Bob Donalds was still around he could share the horror stories on these for you I am sure. But really all I know for sure is that yes they do split the case and replace all the bearings, and that their mains are always oversized on the case. Let me know if I can help you with your rebuilds. I could put together a package of rebuild parts for you. Let me know.
