Well they are in a repair shop at the Sinclair station on 1175 east flamingo rd. in las vegas The shop reccomended by a few members was Meyers service, but they closed the garage at noon today, so no luck there. the initial diagnosis is plugged fuel injectors. The mechanic is still looking at it and I don't know what he proposes to do to repair or further diagnose the problem. The boys seem to be waiting around alot.

The car (81 air cooled vanagon) ran fine from San Diego to Las Vegas yesterday, they got in to vegas around 11pm and spent the night exploring the strip on foot. when they returned to the car, and started it, it started fine and idled ok, but died after a minute. they could keep it running and drive it to a hotel nearby, by slipping the clutch alot and maintaining high rpms. Continued to stall at idle and no power at low rpms.

any further thoughts, or suggestion?

These fellows are on their first long road trip and have only limited mechanical abilities and money.

Have had some nice contact so far with members, thanks
