This is why you need to charge market rates for your work, to cover your arse for things that come up later. No one, and certainly no van, is perfect. You need to make good money on the easy jobs so you can make "some"money on the harder jobs, and so you aren't working your butt off constantly. You have the reputation and the skills to make the money you need, ask for it! You may lose some jobs, but trust me, you don't want those projects anyway. I'm a remodeling contractor, these are lessons I've had to learn to keep me from going nuts. They are sometimes hard to self-enforce, but they pay off in peace of mind, bank account and free time Good luck to you, and keep working on vans, We need the Benny Boys and Boston Bobs of the world for these things! Don Benny Boy said: "I had rust spot came out on heavy body work i did, men i gave everything i had on those van...

stock engine that i decided that the stock head where in perfect condition, tested deeply and the head passed the test... the hell, some cracked later.

Bad rebuilt transmission, defective new parts, time and time spent covering even stuff i have no control on it! of course for free."
